You Can Heal Your Life

by Sarah Correa

When I was fourteen all I wished for were to die.

I wallowed in a deep depression that seemed to never end. Then a sudden rush of love washed over my entire body one day. It was truly amazing. Something straight from Heaven. I loved everything around me. All I knew was I had never felt like that before.  Well, maybe I did when I was younger. Infants and children often feel like this before their bright spirits are dimmed by the constant distractions in life. It’s a balancing act, and sometimes the scales can tilt. You see, as we age, we get wound up in issues, whether caused by our families, by peers or through messages found in the media.  And some lose sight. I was supposed to be a child of Light.  So that day I promised myself that it wouldn’t happen again. But like anything, without practice, your lessons will soon fade.

Avoid the reminders, and things can get worse. Like what happened back in 2006.  Broken by a number of countless relationships and a career that wasn’t taking off, I felt lost. Why wasn’t anything working for me? So I opened Pandora’s box by concentrating on all the negativity.  Then came the illness. I had flu-like symptoms that wouldn’t go away, zero energy and my hair began to fall out. I can still recall sitting at my desk typing away and feeling hairs breaking off from the top of my head. It was embarrassing and frightening. So what was wrong? Well, no one knew.  Test after test claimed that I was healthy. But I knew.

Desperate for a cure, I began to investigate alternative approaches to healing. And discovered people who had been in the same boat as me. Who had failing health but tested out healthy as could be. I began to incorporate what they recommended and soon found healing too. Then a few people told me to check out Louise Hay’s book, You Can Heal Your Life. So I did. It was uncanny how her book kept coming up in random conversations. So I read it in just a few days. And then odd things began to happen. I had premonitions while I slept and noticed I was becoming clairvoyant too.  For about a month, I could wake up and know what was going to happen each day. Even whom I was going to run into. I thought to myself, “it’s boring being a psychic because you live a life of no surprises.”

As I continued to meditate, pearls of wisdom came to light. I understood that God, the Universe, or Whoever/Whatever you believe in is already inside of us. And each person has the free will to reflect that Light back to our world in any way they wish. Some choose a dimmer Light while others are bright. Since the source of this Light is all the same, it is important to love yourself and others alike. Unconditionally. Every single person can be as bright as Mother Teresa or as dim as an inmate on death row. And all have the power to adjust their Lights at will.

I was in ecstasy. Pure nirvana. And since then have wanted to share this message with all of you. To help others brighten their Light. And bring about healing too.

In 2006, Sarah was chronically ill and desperate for a cure so she began investigating alternative approaches. She discovered people who found peace when adapting more self-aware lifestyles, so she practiced them… and began to heal, too.  Enthusiastic about her experience, Sarah’s goal is to share her knowledge with others. Working on a novel, her next book will highlight her journey toward total-body healing. Contact Sarah at: colormyspirit@yahoo.com

The Treasure of Stillness

by Kamalla McNamara

Living in a world of constant bombardment, our senses are continuously overwhelmed. Gadgets that are meant to save us time and energy have overtaken every moment of our lives, and multi-tasking is looked upon as a great benefit. Although we try to do many things at the same time, we find that our lives seem fragmented, incomplete and empty. Do we stop to look in the direction our actions are leading us?

Stillness has lost its place. A moment of time alone is not only rare, but we often fill these spaces with the incessant chatter of our minds. We are so concerned with missing out on anything “important” that we can’t even see the real treasure that is right inside of us.

Becoming totally present and turning inward, starting with a few moments every day, will foster within us a deeper sense of knowing and understanding our greater purpose. It will help us to get in touch with our higher consciousness, who we really are and give us a true sense of direction.

The next time you have a free moment, resist the urge to turn on the TV, pick up your cell phone or get on the computer. Just sit down, be still, be quiet, turn off your mind and take a look inside… Enjoy the stillness. We have within us everything we could ever want, and what we are continually searching for in the outer world—all the joy, all the love, all the wisdom and infinite light. It is all right there, inside. Take the time to look within; it is well worth the treasure you will find.

Kamalla McNamara lives in Ashland, OR with her husband and four children. She is active in yoga, spirituality, dance, vegetarian cooking, caring for her family, and finding the beauty and joy in every moment.

The Intelligence of Bees

by Tegan Carter Lange

I believe connectedness is the key to unlocking the barriers to a more peaceful, equitable, happier world. When our minds are opened to the thoughts and experiences of other people we are no longer limited by the bounds of our own narrow understanding. Misunderstandings, unsupported assumptions, and, especially, lies, lead to fear of the unknown and clinging to the little we think we know. When we learn to be comfortable with the vulnerability of opening ourselves to others we are able to collaborate in sifting through our collective ideas and experiences and together we gather the nuggets of truth embedded within. We accumulate and amalgamate these nuggets into a larger, clearer concept of truth. To then continually humble and open ourselves to others in order to exchange each of our own unique collections of truth only furthers the opening of minds and continues the culling of untruths, culminating in a greater intelligence achieved only collectively.

This is not unlike the hive intelligence of bees. Individually, each bee contains the capacity for very little knowledge, yet through a form of communication humans can only speculate about, the hive as a whole has a greater culminated knowledge than any one bee can contain or be held responsible for. The more we locate, assimilate, and disseminate truth the closer we, as a whole organism, come to fully understanding and making better decisions regarding the earth and the creatures who live upon it.

Source of All Abundance

I flipped my office calendar to September today.  This is what it said:

“When you know that you are an inseparable part of the field of all possibilities, you can easily fulfill your desires. You no longer worry about money–getting it, losing it, or not having enough–because you know the supply is inexhaustible.

This understanding is the source of all abundance.”   ~  Deepak Chopra

Does this feel as timely for you as it did for me?

Do One Thing That Scares You

Just because you are afraid does not mean you are not ready to take the next step toward achieving your goals.  Fear is simply a signal that what you are pursuing is outside of your current comfort zone.  In this case, fear is an automatic response–pointing out that you are approaching the barrier of your “circle of safety.”

Breaking through it is not the difficult part.  The greatest challenge is in continuing toward it in the face of fear, taking action in spite of it.

What elicits fear in you today?

Continue on, courageous souls, and you will understand the power of transforming fear into growth.

“Do one thing every day that scares you.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
