Life as a Spiritual Path

Life is a spiritual path. You may have heard people describing how they began their spiritual path, or found a spiritual path, but in reality, they’ve been on that path all along.
You cannot be on any other path except that of spirit, for, as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin noted, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
Who is more spiritual? A devoted monk or a successful businesswoman? A member of the clergy or a wilderness teacher? ”Spiritual” is not something you do, it is something you are. And we are all spiritual beings, regardless of the occupation in which we work or the belief system we’ve chosen. We are always on a spiritual path.

I love this blog! I am a healing practitioner who specializes in EFT, Hypnotherapy, energy balancing, and life coaching supported by the spiritual principles of A Course in Miracles. One of the things that I hear often from clients, is that they wish they could find work that was “more spiritual” and less of this world. I have always loved the quote that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Therefore, I remind my beloved clients that ALL work is spiritual work because that is what we are! It may be somewhat easier to be spiritually based when we are in nature or meditating with like minded souls, but it is an illuminating challenge to come from spirit when waiting tables in a restaurant full of impatient egos or working in a bank or whatever it is that one may be doing for work. If we can remember the truth of who we really are in those environments – and actually transform the way we experience those environments – based on our willingness to see them differently, then we have been successful in that moment along the spiritual path that we have been on all along. Thank you for this lovely reminder!!
